Chronicles of Elyria

Chronicles of Elyria is an MMO that has been quietly positioning for a sneak attack on the entire MMO market.

When I first read about COE I thought it was a cash grab. Years later, I decided to have another look and after having just barely grasped the basics of the MMO, I've come to realize my mistake. I'm really glad that I decided to take a second look at what is probably going to be the best MMO I've ever played, and Alpha is creeping up soon.

Understand that I rarely change my mind about a game and when I do, I often go from "meh, no thanks" to "okay it's not that bad after all". But in this case I've gone from "meh, no thanks" to "holy shit this is the MMO of my dreams". This amazing development company has single handedly given me hope of a revival of the MMORPG market.

To understand COE takes time because there is a lot to learn. But this is the best time to learn it. The game is still in pre-alpha and this gives you plenty of time to learn everything about it. This isn't an MMO that you can just read a quick summary about and then move on, to fully appreciate the attention to detail it's been given, you must study it. I know this is going to be a turn off for some gamers, but if you are are like me and the rest of the COE community, then you appreciate rich content with lots of freedom to do as you wish.

If you've already seen a video or 2 about this game, you have not even scratched the surface of what this game is offering MMO gamers.

It's more like a World Simulator than an MMORPG

I can barely scratch the surface of what this game is to describe here, but if there is one thing that I can say to help gamers understand, it is to think of COE as a world simulator rather than an MMORPG. It is a true sandbox experience in a world that is always changing. And I don't mean the watered down version of "sandbox experience" that is often used in a ton of theme park MMO's trying to cash in on a buzz phrase and bringing nothing new to the genre. Literally everything in the world is shaped by the players including the land and with a level of realism that makes it more like a world simulator, than an MMO.

Anyone that knows me knows that I can be extremely critical of game staff. A great game can be ruined by bad and dishonest staff, my biggest pet peave being staff that doesn't communicate with the community. The COE staff is very active putting out frequent videos and engaging with the community in a number of venues and even casually on Discord via live chat. When they release information about the game, they don't post a tiny little paragraph about it, they post monster articles with attention to detail and then follow it up with a live stream video Q&A. They have not let their Pax pass inflate their ego's and they are very much in touch with the community as a whole to further compliment their already very ambitious MMO.

My Invite

It doesn't cost anything to create a pre-alpha account and I'm planing for some in-game perks for those that decide to play the game after using my referral code. Anyone that has signed up with my past offers (like Eve Online) knows that I enjoy being generous in-game and my attitude will be no different with this game.

To signup just head over to the COE site, register an account, and include my referral code in the referral code form field. It's not automatic so you will have to copy/paste if from here: EF51DB.

Once you sign up, please contact me directly via the contact form on this site or via Discord at Whip#6987. Friends feel free to email me directly, you already have my email address. This allows me to keep in touch with you so that once the game launches, I can make good on my offer to spoil you with in-game perks. I typically like to reward people that I've referred based on how active they are in the game. So for this game, that could be anywhere from bit of gold, to free land, and everything in between based on your activity level in the game. I will be on the North American West server, but I will be doing cross server trades too with alts (You can have multiple accounts with this game).

I wish I could cover all of the amazing aspects of this game, but it's challenging enough just to learn it (and that's part of what I love about it) so instead I'm going to just post the long list of features this game has. I'm also working on a new site to guide new players, you can find it here, but it's a bit of a mess at the moment since it's still a work in progress.
