I'm Still Alive

It's been another 2 years since my last update and that has become the standard here. The list of available PBBG's which at one time was over 600 is continually shrinking and over the last 2 years, is very close to dropping into the double digits. These last two years we've gained 3 PBBG's and lost another 27 PBBG's, or at least 27 that had at one time claimed to be a PBBG. One of these (Dead Maze) was a top rated PBBG but was retired because, as I reported once before, Adobe sunset Flash. You can still play it, but as an application based game. But this site is mainly about Browser Based MMO's.

There's really only a handful of good PBBG's but surprisingly, there are still new ones that popup every so often and once a year or so I actively look for new PBBG's. Recently I found Verz Online, a game like Pardus (my first PBBG) but still under development. But the truth is, the majority of gamers are obsessed with AAA graphics, 120 FPS game play, and "amazing hit feedback", content is only a side note. I'm not demonizing application games, I even have a list of my favorite PC games, it just seems like standards are in rapid decline.

I still believe that the portability and reach offered by Browser Based MMO's is superior to that of application based MMO's. I'm still sitting on my own PBBG Design Document, which contains features never before seen in an MMO or PBBG. I still might throw it into the wind and see if anyone can make something of it.

But yes I'm still alive and still running this site and on a VERY outdated platform that the Wikidot owner refuses to update, even though he could just pay someone else to do it. I can't even run Google Analytics here anymore and that (among other factors) has contributed greatly to lack of traffic because as you may already know, Google provides greater visibility for sites that use their tools.
